Sorry to hear about that.
I was admitted right before I moved to California. I went part-time for a couple of years -- right when we first met -- one or two classes a semester, but what eventually hit me was that if I did get the degree, I would knock my salary down from where it stood as an exalted editorial assistant. Kind of a disincentive to finish grad school, see.
And CalPoly ranks higher than UCB for architecture, and it has a much more interesting program, in my opinion. Of course, being able to live at home would make a difference in the timeline of house renovations, but not enough that I'd give up a better education.
